Current areas of interest

For several years John has been investigating the connections between two linked teachings fundamental to both Theravadin and Mahayana schools of Buddhism and key archetypal figures from the pantheons of several traditional cultures. He has recently been examining possible correlations between the traditional Christian teaching of the 'seven deadly sins', the pre - Christian Roman cult of Mithras and the six perfections from Mahayana Buddhism. John is particularly interested in exploring how the above can be usefully applied to practical aspects of everday life, including specifically one's meditation practice. To this end some of the main aspects of these topics will be presented by John in his upcoming series of introductory meditation classes in the Spring.
